Bill Thomas shoots the new feature film Remainder for Tigerlily Films and Film 4, directed by Omer Fast.

A mysterious accident has left a young man comatose for months at a neurological hospital. After a long process of rehabilitation, he finds himself alone, unemployed and exceptionally wealthy – an unwitting beneficiary of a large legal settlement. Sitting at home with nothing to do and very little recollection of his past, the young man goes about piecing his life back together through the help of an executive assistant and a large team of technicians and actors. The activities he has them perform seem banal at first and involve the simulation of everyday life in an apartment building he’s acquired. Growing more and more paranoid and alienated from the people around him, the young man begins to stage other performances outside, which are increasingly characterized by violence and control. In a final attempt to reconcile his collapsing inner world with a treacherous outside reality, the man manipulates his team of actors into robbing his own bank. The robbery goes catastrophically wrong, but the man escapes in a final brutal moment – only to begin everything again. This project is an adaptation of Tom McCarthy’s novel “Remainder.”

Remainder is set for release later this year.
