Amir films this week for BBC One medical drama, Casualty. He plays Naveed, a young man who joins the Afghan army, despite facing potential repercussions from several of the older members of his deeply religious family.
Set at Holby General’s Emergency Department, Casualty is one of the longest running medical drama series in the world and has been on our screens since 1986. Based in the fictional county of Wyvern, the series follows the ups and downs of medical staff in their personal and professional lives.Overview
Amir is a recent graduate from LAMDA. He has also had leading roles in feature films, El Talata Yeshtaghalonha and Ramadan Mabrouk Abu El Alamein Hamouda, the latter earning him an Egyptian Oscar for Best Young Actor and national acclaim.
He recently shot the role of Bolts in new BBC3 comedy pilot Rudeboys for director, Ben Gosling Fuller. He has also filmed the role of Alireza in Rosewater directed by US political satirist Jon Stewart. Other television credits include Casualty for BBC TV.
Amir shot in Morocco for season two of Transporter: The Series and also for season two of the FX production, Tyrant as Mousa. Most recently, Amir has been filming The Night Manager as semi-regular character Youssef.About Sainou
