Sally Ann Matthews plays Kester’s Wife in the new 6 part comedy/drama series My Fat, Mad Teenage Diary produced by Tiger Aspect for E4.

Written by Tom Bidwell and adapted from Rae Earl’s real-life diary and book of the same name, the six-part series takes “a warm, hilarious and honest look at teenage life from the perspective of an overweight sixteen-year-old girl in mid 90s Lincolnshire… who – despite a bonkers mother and her own mental health issues – has a huge lust for life, love and Liam Gallagher”.

The series is amongst a slate of new commissions for 2012-2013 by Channel 4 Chief Creative Officer Jay Hunt, including conspiracy drama Utopia and crime drama The Fear. Ben Caron directs with Matt Bouch producing.
