Sarah Amankwah: The Globe Ensemble

Sarah Amankwah is part of this years Globe Ensemble.

Sarah will play Hal in Henry IV Parts I and II and the titular role in Henry V. The shows open at the end of April and continue in rep until October 2019. Sarah Bedi and Federay Holmes will direct the shows.

The Globe Ensemble was introduced last year by artistic director Michelle Terry as part of her first season to echo how Shakespeare’s plays would have been first performed.

Sarah Amankwah trained at the Manchester School of Theatre. She is part of Shakespeare's Globes first repertory company, The Globe Ensemble.

Theatre credits include Doctor Faustus at Shakespeare's Globe, The Crucible and The Skriker at The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester and she played Shenzi in The Lion King at The Lyceum Theatre. She played Filch in the National Theatre production of The Threepenny Opera, and Venticello in Amadeus (National Theatre).

Recent screen credits include ITV crime drama Marcella and World War Z for Paramount.

Sarah is a member of the Imaginarium In-House Repertory Company. Founded in 2011 by Andy Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish, The Repertory Company is made up of in-house actors trained in performance capture.
