Rhianne Barreto: Variety – 10 Brits to Watch for 2019

Rhianne Barreto has been announced as one of Variety’s ’10 Brit’s to Watch in 2019′ alongside Sainou client Joivan Wade.

Variety is partnering with the Newport Beach Film Festival to recognize those selected at the fifth annual Newport Beach U.K. Honours evening. Talent selected include writers, actors, and singers appearing working in all mediums.

“This year marks the fifth year of the Newport Beach Film Festival UK Honours celebrating the best in British cinema and TV. A co-hosted event by Visit Newport Beach and the Newport Beach Film Festival, the annual event brings Southern California’s famous sunshine and aspirational lifestyle to London with a star-studded reception,” said Gary C. Overview

Rhianne was born and raised in West London and trained at the The Brit School and National Youth Theatre.

Since graduating she has worked with companies such as the BBC and Film4 in the UK. Most recently she worked with Amazon Studios and Working Title on their new high-concept, coming-of-age series, Hanna, playing lead role Sophie (March 2019 release).

She is the star of A24's upcoming feature film Share, which is based on writer/director Pippa Bianco’s short of the same name and won the top Cinefondation Selection prize at Cannes in 2015. Rhianne won a Grand Jury Prize for Acting at Sundance Festival 2019 which marked the film’s world premiere.

She was announced as one of Variety's 10 Brits to Watch and in 2018 she was announced as one of Screen Daily's Stars of Tomorrow, hand selected from an extensive list of outstanding up and coming British talent.
