Rhianne Barreto has been announced as one of Screen Daily’s Stars of Tomorrow 2018. Rhianne stars as lead Sophie in upcoming Amazon series Hanna and as the lead in the Untitled Pippa Bianco Project. “It’s so important these stories get told, and it’s incredible I’ve now got this opportunity.”
Now in its 15th year, the annual talent showcase up-and-coming actors, writers, directors and producers from the UK and Ireland who are primed to make their mark in the industry in the years to come. Stars of Tomorrow editor Fionnuala Halligan curates the line-up after considering hundreds of candidates and consulting with industry experts including casting directors, talent agents, managers, producers and directors.
Rhianne’s love for acting has been a driving force from an early age. “It was interesting while growing up, not seeing anyone like me on screen,” she says. “Being able to be seen for roles that I wouldn’t usually be seen for is really important — and it shouldn’t just be a phase or a trend.”

Rhianne was born and raised in West London and trained at the The Brit School and National Youth Theatre.
Since graduating she has worked with companies such as the BBC and Film4 in the UK. Most recently she worked with Amazon Studios and Working Title on their new high-concept, coming-of-age series, Hanna, playing lead role Sophie (March 2019 release).
She is the star of A24 and HBO's upcoming feature film Share, which is based on writer/director Pippa Bianco’s short of the same name and won the top Cinefondation Selection prize at Cannes in 2015. Rhianne won a Grand Jury Prize for Acting at Sundance Festival 2019 which marked the film’s world premiere.
She was announced as one of Variety's 10 Brits to Watch and in 2018 she was announced as one of Screen Daily's Stars of Tomorrow, hand selected from an extensive list of outstanding up and coming British talent.About Sainou
