Matt Healy films The Best Years for Empire Productions. Set in Northern Ireland after thirty years of troubles, the film is directed by Danny Patrick and produced by Louise Carmby.

The plot centres around a group of gangsters who set out to use the Apprentice Boys March to further their own get rich quick scheme.

Matt stars alongside Martin Kemp, Colin Salmon, Anna Nightingale and Slaine Kelly.


Scottish born Matt Healy grew up in Oldham and is one of the North West's leading actors, perhaps best known as series regular Matthew King in Emmerdale.

Recent work includes the features Dementamania, The Best Years, and Rise and Fall of Little Voice and The Queen of The North, both for The Bolton Octagon.

He recently featured in Doctors for BBC One.
