Lucy Hind: CBBC’s Peter Pan

Date - 8 October, 2014, All News Television Theatre

Lucy Hind is the choreographer on the CBBC pantomime Peter Pan this year.

The CBeebies Panto is usually shown in the week before Christmas, and is a festive treat for all the family.

The pantomimes feature the presenters from the CBeebies house, as well as other CBeebies favourites such as Justin Fletcher, Chris and Pui (Show Me Show Me), Phil Griffin (Mister Maker), Ben Faulks (Mr Bloom) and plenty more.

Jack and the Beanstalk was the first CBeebies Panto to be filmed in a real theatre, providing an opportunity to introduce young viewers to the idea of a live performance.

Lucy trained in choreography, mime and physical theatre at Rhodes University, South Africa and went on to perform with the celebrated First Physical Theatre Company.

Since arriving in the UK she has worked as Movement Director and Performer in many acclaimed British theatres including the The Old Vic, The Royal Exchange, Almeida, Barbican, Lowry, Sheffield Crucible, West Yorkshire Playhouse and Bath Theatre Royal. Lucy is a member of the award winning Slung Low theatre company and a selector for the National Student Drama Festival.

Lucy has received critical acclaim for her Movement Direction on Girl from the North Country (The Old Vic/ West End). Other recent work includes Movement Director on Ugly Lies the Bone (National Theatre), No's Knife (The Old Vic) and The House of Bernada Alba at The Royal Exchange. Choreographer on The Snowmaiden for Opera North; The Merchant Of Venice with Jonathan Munby at The Globe Theatre, and The Effect for Sheffield Theatres directed by Daniel Evans.
