Lena Kaur: Currently rehearsing for ‘Thursday’ in Adelaide

Lena Kaur is currently in rehearsal with English Touring Theatre for the production of ‘Thursday’. The ETT joins forces with Adelaide-based Brink Productions, makers of the multi-award-winning When the Rain Stops Falling, on a powerful new co-production.

The play takes reference from the remarkable story of a woman from Adelaide Gill Hicks, who lost her legs in the London 2005 bombings, Thursday layers dreams with reality, compassion with devastation and identity with loss, to build a deeply woven picture of humanity. A world premiere production from the pen of award-winning playwright Bryony Lavery.

Lena’s most notable TV include: SPC Bryony, Happy Valley series 2, Prisoners Wives , Torchwood and Hollyoaks.

Lena theatre credits include: Myth, The Earthworks, Seven Acts of Mercy, The Rover and Two Noble Kinsmenall at The Royal Shakespeare Company. Treasure Island National Theatre,Thursday by Bryony Lavery for ETT, title role of Rubina for Birmingham Rep, The Skys the Limit at The Old Vic and most recently The last testament of Lillian Bilocca written by Maxine Peak for Hull Truck/ City Of Culture.

Lena’s writing credits include, Come To Where I’m From, Paines Plough and 'Are You That Girl off the Telly?’, Leicester Square and St James Theatre. She also contributed sketches for Scallywagga , BBC.
