Katie Elin-Salt: The Rise and Fall of Little Voice

Katie Elin-Salt plays LV in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at the Octagon Theatre Bolton.

Directed by Elizabeth Newman, this production features a live band of actor/musicians and includes hits including Big Spender, Over the Rainbow and Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien.

Written by Jim Cartwright, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice sees LV escaping the attentions of her overbearing mother through her father’s old vinyl collection. When it is discovered LV has a special gift, stunning impersonations of her favourite stars, others look to take advantage of her talents.

The play has not only seen acclaimed West End and Broadway productions but was adapted into a feature film starring Jane Horrocks, Michael Caine, Brenda Blethyn and Ewan McGregor.


Native Welsh actress Katie Elin-Salt trained at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Notable theatre credits include the lead role of LV in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice for Bolton Octagon, Grace in Out of Love for Paines Plough's Roundabout Season, Meryl in Crouch Hold Pause Engage for Out of Joint and National Theatre of Wales, Phebe in As you Like it, Patti in Season's Greetings, Rita in Educating Rita all for Theatr Clywd.

Television credits include Amy Edwards in two series of Stella for Tidy Productions, Doctors for BBC TV, Flash Prank for MTV, Tissues and Issues and Perfect Summer both for Fiction Factory.
