Jonathan Stewart: A Damsel in Distress

Jonathan Stewart joins the cast of A Damsel in Distress for Chichester Festival Theatre. Rehearsals begin today for the musical that will play at Chichester from 30th May until 27th June 2015.

This musical comedy is a tribute to English love with all its eccentricities. Based on a novel by P.G. Wodehouse, with songs by George and Ira Gershwin,
A Damsel in Distress is well-known from the popular 1937 comedy film.

This new stage musical is directed by the celebrated American director and choreographer, Rob Ashford, whose many accolades include a Tony Award, Olivier Award, Emmy Award, Drama Desk Award and Critics’ Circle Award.

Jonathan will be joined by Richard Fleeshman and Summer Strallen.


Jonathan created the role of Pinocchio in the original West End cast of Shrek at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Other theatre credits include Big Fish at The Other Palace, Guys and Dolls at the Phoenix Theatre, Love Never Dies and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat both at the Adelphi Theatre, Love Me Tender Hate Me Please at the Trafalgar Studios and Seven Brides For Seven Brothers at the Haymarket Theatre and A Damsel In Distress at Chichester Festival Theatre.
