It’s Press Night of the RSC’s new production of Doctor Faustus at the Swan Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Sainou’s John Cummins plays Cornelius/Evil Angel in Marlowe’s notorious tale of vanity, greed and damnation, directed by Maria Aberg.

John also has roles coming up in The Alchemist and Don Quixote, directed by Polly Findlay and Angus Jackson respectively, making up the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 2016 Swan Season.

Overview

John Cummins trained at RADA.

He is an accomplished stage actor who has performed in several seasons at Shakespeare's Globe, The National Theatre and The Bush. His credits include: Hyde Villiers in The Whip, Philip of France in King John, Thomas Cromwell in Henry VIII, Simpkin/Parrot in Anne Boleyn, Tim Muffin in Eigengrau and Gavy in Stuart: A Life Backwards.

His television credits include: The Witcher, Doctor Who, 24: Live Another Day, The Hour, Holby City and EastEnders.

John features in the Film 4 feature directed by Sarah Gavron, Suffragette.

He played Levin in the Manchester Royal Exchange production of Anna Karenina.
