Joe Sims plays regular character Nige Carter in the new eight part ITV ensemble drama series, Broadchurch. Led by David Tennant, Olivia Colman and Vicky McClure the series explores what happens to a small community when it suddenly becomes the focus of a major event and is subjected to the full glare of the media spotlight.
Written and created by Chris Chibnall, whose previous work includes United, Torchwood, Law & Order: UK and Doctor Who, Broadchurch is a story Chris has wanted to tell for some time and is being produced by Kudos Film and Television.
Joe is joined by a strong cast of British acting talent including Jodie Whittaker as Beth, Andrew Buchan as Mark, Will Mellor playing Stephen Turner and Arthur Darvill as the town priest Paul Coates.Overview
Bristol born Joe Sims has worked across television, film, theatre and radio. He recently won the Off West End People's Choice Award for Best Actor for his two hander As We Forgive Them as well as 3 other Best Actor Award nominations for the role.
Recent TV credits include White Heat with Sam Claflin and Lindsay Duncan, Casualty, Red and White and Ultimate Force.
Film includes Outside Bet with Bob Hoskins, Derah Garuda and the award nominated Overseasoned.
Theatre credits include the award winning As We Forgive Them at the Arcola/Young Vic, Leopaldville and Christmas Reloaded for Papa Tango Theatre and She Stoops To Conquer at the Manchester Royal Exchange.
