Jimmy Johnston: Rehearsals Begin for Little Shop of Horrors

Date - 3 July, 2013, All News Theatre

Jimmy Johnston will play Mr Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre this summer.Following on from the success of their 2012 production of ‘Hairspray’, the same creative team are reuniting for this musical favourite.

The musical tells the tale of down and out floral assistant Seymour, who becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant – the only problem is that it has very strange feeding habits! As the plant grows into a badly behaved R&B-singing carnivore everything that Seymour holds dear is threatened as its sinister agenda for global domination is revealed.

One of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time, this award winning musical was also made into a hit film. An affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies, it features rock’n’roll and doo-wop music.
