Jack Whitam: King Lear

Jack Whitam plays Edmund in King Lear for Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory which has its Press Night this evening.

Directed by Andrew Hilton, Artistic Director and Founder of SATTF this production marks the twelfth year of productions for the company.


Jack Whitam trained at Bristol Old Vic.

His recent theatre includes Cassio in Othello with Actors from the London Stage, Edmund in King Lear for Shakespeare at The Tobacco Factory, Sallust in Emperor & Galilean at The National and Eros in Antony & Cleopatra for The RSC. Other notable theatre credits include King Lear, Macbeth and Richard III all for The RSC, The Tempest, As You Like It, Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing all for Sprite Productions and Much ado About Nothing for Derby Live and many readings/workshops for Shakespeare's Globe, Birmingham Rep and Royal Court.

As well as being a leading Shakespearean actor, Jack is also a strong comedic actor with featuring on the films Man Up, Powder and his Comedy internet series The Art of Awkward Conversation.

Recent screen credits include feature film Man Up and Doctors for BBC TV.
