Timeless hit, The Sound of Music opens to the press tonight at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Helen plays the role of Baroness Elbefeld.

Rachel Kavanaugh directs a brand new production that has inspired audiences across the world with its story of love and freedom.

The Sound of Music is a musical with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. It is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers.Songs from the musical have become standards, such as “Edelweiss”, “My Favorite Things”, “Climb Ev’ry Mountain”, “Do-Re-Mi”, and the title song “The Sound of Music”.

Overview

Helen Colby trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Her theatre credits include the West End productions of Sweeney Todd at The Adelphi and Sister Act at The London Palladium, as well as the UK Tour of The Sound of Music.
