Haruka Abe shoots feature film About Time, written and directed by Richard Curtis for Working Title Films.

Best known for Love Actually and the feature film adaptation Bridget Jones’s Diary, Richard Curtis has written a ‘feel-good’ movie about a man and his ability to travel back in time.

Haruka shoots alongside Rachel McAdams, Bill Nighy and Tom Hollander.

Overview

Japanese born Haruka Abe spent her youth split between Tokyo and New York before settling in London.

She gained UK wide recognition playing the role of Miko in all 5 series of the hit comedy Ideal opposite Johnny Vegas and My Phone Genie for ITV1.

Other notable screen credits include Cucumber, About Time for Working Title Films, 47 Ronin for Universal Pictures, The Knife That Killed Me, Random 11 for Vertigo Films, Emerald City for NBC. Most recently she has played series regular Tippi in Kiss me First for Netflix/Channel 4, Tomoko in Channel 4 comedy Stath Lets Flats, May-Ling in BAFTA Cymru nominated Late Shift and Suzume in Giri/Haju for the BBC/Netflix.

Her multi award winning short films Stanley Pickle and Yuki have won worldwide critical acclaim.
