Fahrenheit 451 is a 2018 dystopian drama film written and directed by Ramin Bahrani, based on the book of the same name by Ray Bradbury. Grace Lynn Kung stars with Michael B. Jordan, Michael Shannon, Sofia Boutella, Lilly Singh, Andy McQueen, and Martin Donovan.
In the distant future, books are banned and ordered to be burned by the “firemen”. Guy Montag, a firefighter, goes about his work without questioning motives, believing he is helping out with the end of seeking knowledge. All this changes when he meets another person who makes him challenge his actions and convictions. When he finally decides to rebel and understand how the “Eels” (book-reading outcasts) read, he comes to a realization – he now wants to read as well. Montag decides to help a rebel who has a plan to reproduce their information through animals. Montag’s captain confronts him to tell him he is wanted for treason. He runs and later on goes back to the rebel house to find the firemen are already there burning books. Montag finds the bird and puts the transponder inside the bird but suddenly his captain finds him and tells him to stop. Montag pauses then lets the bird go, leading to his captain burning him alive while he closes his eyes, calmly…
