Emma Eliza Regan: Darkness On The Edge Of Town

Date - 9 July, 2014, All News Film Opening Nights

Emma Eliza Regan stars in Darkness On The Edge Of Town which premieres this evening at Galway Film Fleadh. The feature is written and directed by Patrick Ryan and co-stars Emma Willis and Brian Gleeson.

Emma Eliza plays troubled teenage sharpshooter Cleo Callahan, who strives to avenge the death of her estranged sister after she is found brutally stabbed in a public bathroom. Blinded by rage and shame, Cleo is unaware that her best and only friend, Robin O’Riley (Emma Willis) is the murderer she’s sworn to kill. As Robin’s damaged brother Virgil (Brian Gleeson) also draws closer to the truth, the three become tragically entangled, leading to an inevitable bloody showdown that costs them all severely.

A crime genre film with art house sensibilities, Darkness on the Edge of Town takes the form of a classical tragedy emboldened with the visual overtones of a western, exploring the limits of revenge, family and friendship.
