Daryl McCormack has been announced as a new cast member of the BAFTA winning BBC drama Peaky Blinders. This season is directed by Anthony Byrne and produces by Annie Harrison-Baxter. Alongside names such as Sam Claffin (The Hunger Games) and Anya Taylor-Joy (Split), Daryl was named as one of the new regular cast members of the upcoming fifth series.
Peaky Blinders is set in post-war, industrial Britain and follows the rise to power of the fictional, Birmingham based gang the Peaky Blinders. Lead by their fierce leader Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy), the gang carves out a place for itself in the murky underworld of British criminals.
Fresh off the West End Stage (The Lieutenant of Inishmore) Daryl will be shoulder to shoulder with the original Peaky Blinders cast members in the much anticipated fifth series set to land on BBC One in 2019.
Daryl's screen credits include A Very English Scandal (BBC), Season 5 of Vikings (History Channel) and MGM’s TV pilot Dawn directed by Robert Stromberg. He can also be seen in the feature film The Randomer written by Gerry Stembridge, which premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh.
Theatre credits include Brendan in The Lieutenant of Inishmore (Noël Coward Theatre), the title role of Othello (Theatre Royal), Romeo and Juliet (The Gate Theatre Dublin), and playing the lead in The Voice Factor X (New Dublin Theatre).About Sainou
