Daphne Alexander records The Aeneid

Daphne Alexander voices the role of Dido in The Aeneid for BBC Radio in Wales.

This adaptation is directed by Kate McAll. The first six of the epic poem’s twelve books tell the story of Aeneas’ wanderings from Troy to Italy, and the poem’s second half tells of the Trojans’ ultimately victorious war upon the Latins, under whose name Aeneas and his Trojan followers are destined to be subsumed.

The radio drama will be broadcast later this year.

Overview

Daphne is best known for her role as a series regular in BBC's Casualty where she played Nadia Talianos. Other notable TV credits include Doctors for BBC TV and the US mini-series, House of Saddam produced by HBO Films. Daphne appeared in Roman Polanski's The Ghost Writer alongside Pierce Brosnan and Ewan McGregor and in Universal's The Fourth Kind in the role of Theresa.

Daphne recently appeared in Hidden In The Sand which ran at the Trafalgar Studios in 2013.
