City of the Blind: Shelley King

Shelley King performs in City of the Blind – a digital installation piece that’s being filmed this week.

City of the Blind is a drama designed to be experienced on a smartphone or tablet, though it would also work on a regular computer. The material changes size and layout to fit the device that the viewer is using, though it is primarily intended for smartphone and tablet. The work is presented in varying formats: part audio, part video and part digital.

Overview

Born in Calcutta, Shelley King is a leading Anglo-Indian actress. Television credits include series regular in Tandoori Nights, leads in Banglatown Banquet, The Bill, Silent Witness, Angels, Holby City. She recently played the role of Celandine in Atlantis for BBC TV.

Theatre productions include Women of Troy, The Man of Mode, Tartuffe and Little Clay Cart all for the National Theatre, Bombay Dreams Original West End Cast, Free Outgoing for the Royal Court and Hobson's Choice for the Young Vic. She has also worked extensively with Tara Arts and is also chair of Kali Theatre Company.

Feature Films include Nothing Like This, All In Good Time and Code 46.

Shelley plays Yasmeen Nazir in long running British soap Coronation Street on ITV.
