Ben Fox: 7:39 for BBC One

Date - 6 January, 2014, All News Television

7:39 written by novelist David Nicholls will air this evening on BBC One. It is the first of a two part drama being billed as “Brief Encounter for the 21st century”. The show will feature Ben Fox and also star Sheridan Smith and David Morrissey.

The 7.39 follows Sally and Carl, who begin talking after fighting for a seat on their morning commute and suddenly their daily train journey becomes a lot more interesting. Relatively happy in their home lives, they are, however, drawn to each other, and as their friendship grows to flirtation they refuse to admit – to each other or themselves – that a line might be crossed.

Ben's notable screen credits include series regular Simon Merrifield in The Living & The Dead, Will Shakespeare in Will for TNT, Neath in Summer of Rockets , Vanity Fair for ITV and Amazon, Les Miserables for BBC, The Crown for Netflix and Game of Thrones for HBO.
