Thomas Aldersley can be seen playing Simon Spader in this evening’s and next week’s episodes of Homefront on ITV1.

The new six-part drama series portrays the wives and girlfriends of soldiers serving in war-torn Afghanistan and stars Claire Skinner (Outnumbered, Doctor Who), Clare Higgins (The Syndicate, The Golden Compass, Silent Witness), Nicola Stephenson (Strike Back, Moving On, The Chase) and Antonia Thomas (Misfits, The Deep).

Filmed on location in Manchester and Cheshire, Homefront has been created by Sue Teddern (Birds Of A Feather, Happy Together, soloparentpals.com for Radio 4), who has written the series with Jan McVerry (Coronation Street, Clocking Off, The Street, The Forsyte Saga) and Joe Turner (Robin Hood, Coronation Street, Holby City, Casualty).

Overview

Funny man Thomas Aldersley grew up in Yorkshire and worked on a sheep farm before training as an actor.

He's spent time on the Northern comedy circuit and notable TV appearances include Homefront, Eric & Ernie, Mount Pleasant and Moving On .

He recently filmed Cucumber for Red Productions.
