Tamar Novas: Cocaine Coast (Fariña) (Netflix)

Tamar Novas plays series regular Rogue in new hit Spanish TV series Fariña, recently released on Netflix worldwide under the international title Cocaine Coast.

Cocaine Coast is based on Fariña, Nacho Carretero’s revealing book about the drug war existing on the Galician coast during the 1980s.

The series follows an enterprising young fisherman who gets a lucrative job smuggling the drugs into Europe. With his earnings, he is able to afford a lavish, hedonistic lifestyle that ultimately leads to his downfall.

Directed by Carlos Sedes and produced by Atresmedia Televisión in collaboration with the Galician producer Bambú Producciones.

Overview

Tamar Novas has worked prolifically across cinema, television and theatre throughout Spain. He is probably best known for his Goya award winning performance as Javi in The Sea Inside alongside Javier Bardem and Belén Rueda.

Other screen credits include Diego in Broken Embraces for Pedro Almodóvar and Un otoño sin Berlin opposite Irene Escolar which gained awards at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. Tamar has recently played series regulars in Fariña and The Zone.
