Today marks the début of Modupe Adeyeye as new series regular Blessing Chambers in Hollyoaks on E4 at 7pm.

Blessing works as a glass collector in the strip club she lives above and we’ll quickly learn that she hasn’t had the easiest ride up to now.

Hollyoaks is a long-running British soap opera, first broadcast on Channel 4 on 23 October 1995. It was originally devised by Phil Redmond, who had also devised the Channel 4 soap Brookside. The programme is set in a fictional suburb of Chester called Hollyoaks, and features a large cast of characters primarily aged between 16 and 35. Beginning with a cast of just seven major characters in 1995, the serial now has approximately 50 main cast members. Hollyoaks has a high cast turnover in comparison with other British soaps; as of December 2012, just thirteen characters have spent 5 years or longer on the show.

Modupe Adeyeye is best known for her role as Faith in both E20 and Eastenders. She has since starred as Keira in the BBC drama My Murder alongside John Boyega and Malachi Kirby.

Most recently she played Jayne King in BBC's Our Girl, fellow army recruit and friend of Molly Dawes played by Lacey Turner.

Modupe played series regular Blessing in Hollyoaks for Channel 4 and Lime Pictures.
