Matt Healy: The Best Years

The Best Years will be screened this weekend staring Matt Healy who plays Jackie ‘Giggles’ McGarrigle. Set in Northern Ireland, the film also stars Martin Kemp, Enn Reital and Slaine Kelly.

Peace is declared in Northern Ireland after thirty years of troubles, the criminal empires that have existed during that time can no longer exist and are being shut down. George (Jason Gerard Ogle) nephew of local priest Fr Jude Best (Enn Reital) is released from prison and returns to his old working class neighbourhood to resume his life and steer clear of trouble which includes his best friend Emmet (Marc Pickering).

Overview

Scottish born Matt Healy grew up in Oldham and is one of the North West's leading actors, perhaps best known as series regular Matthew King in Emmerdale.

Recent work includes the features Dementamania, The Best Years, and Rise and Fall of Little Voice and The Queen of The North, both for The Bolton Octagon.

He recently featured in Doctors for BBC One.
