Lena Kaur plays Maya in new drama Prisoners’ Wives, tonight at 9pm on BBC1. The series tells the story of four very different women, each struggling to cope with a significant man in her life serving time in prison.
Written by Julie Gearey, and directed by Damon Thomas and Harry Bradbeer, this relationship-based ensemble drama is set and filmed in Sheffield.
OverviewLena Kaur is best known for her role as Leila Roy in Hollyoaks. Trained at Rose Bruford College, she was part of the original cast go the BBC3 comedy Scallywagga and has most recently been seen as Dr Alicia Patel in the fourth series of Torchwood and as Maya in Tiger Aspect's Prisoners' Wives.
Lena's theatre credits include Sisters at Sheffield Theatres, the title role in Rubina for the Birmingham Rep and The Sky's The Limit at The Old Vic.
