Joe Sims joins the Radio Drama Company (RDC) for their next season of radio plays. Founded in 1940 the RDC was originally known as the BBC Repertory Company – or `The Rep’.
RDC actors take part in many hours of plays, series, dramatisations and readings that Radio Drama records for Radio 3, Radio 4, the World Service and BBC 7 each year. An audience of about half a million people are listening every time a play is aired. Work includes a mix of contemporary and classic drama, comedies, thrillers and challenging new plays written around current day issues.Overview
Bristol born Joe Sims has worked across television, film, theatre and radio. He recently won the Off West End People's Choice Award for Best Actor for his two hander As We Forgive Them as well as 3 other Best Actor Award nominations for the role.
Recent TV credits include White Heat with Sam Claflin and Lindsay Duncan, Casualty, Red and White and Ultimate Force.
Film includes Outside Bet with Bob Hoskins, Derah Garuda and the award nominated Overseasoned.
Theatre credits include the award winning As We Forgive Them at the Arcola/Young Vic, Leopaldville and Christmas Reloaded for Papa Tango Theatre and She Stoops To Conquer at the Manchester Royal Exchange.
Joe can be seen in the role of Nige Carter alongside David Tennant and Olivia Colman on the new ITV drama Broadchurch which airs in March.About Sainou
