Jimmy Johnston opens this evening in the World Premiere of The Soul Man at The Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough.

Chris Monks presents his first musical adaptation specially written for the SJT and building on the huge popularity of The Pirates Of Penzance, The Mikado and Carmen.

Soaring Italian Opera meets Smooth Seventies Soul in this brand new show, freely adapted from Verdi’s Rigoletto and Victor Hugo’s Le Roi S’Amuse.

Jimmy Johnston is a two time Olivier Nominee for Best Actor for his roles in Oklahoma at The National Theatre and Pirates of Penzance at Regent's Park Open Air Festival.

Other recent notable credits include Soul Man for The Stephen Joseph Theatre and the West End's Dreamboats and Petticoats, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera.

Recent TV credits include Galavant, Upstairs Downstairs and Atlantis. He is also a regular guest lead performer on Friday Night is Music Night for BBC Radio 2.
