Ewan Bailey: DeafBlind Screening

Ewan Bailey’s short film, DeafBlind screens today at the Slamdance festival in Utah. Directed by Ewan, DeafBlind stars Maxine Peake (BAFTA nominee) and James Young (Scottish BAFTA Winner) as a deaf and blind woman and a young man who share a spiritual and disturbing connection.

Ewan was interviewed by Francine Stock for Radio 4′s Film Programme to discuss DeafBlind and the challenges faced by filmmakers in the current climate.

Slamdance is a major independent festival that runs concurrently with Sundance and is included on the Academy qualifying list.

Overview

Trained at Central, Ewan Bailey is a leading actor, writer and voice artist.

Recent television credits include Little Crackers for Sky 1, guest lead in Silent Witness, series regular in Honest alongside Amanda Redman and series regular in Funland.

Ewan can also be seen in leading feature film including Bloodthirst, The Jackal, Judge Dredd, The Road to Guantanamo.

Ewan is also an extremely skilled voiceover artist, working across innumerable productions including Doctor Who Christmas Special, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, Jon Ravens Sketch Show and Inspector Steine all for BBC Radio. He is also the voice of the Saturday Review for Radio 4.

Ewan founded Rubbaball, a small scale comedy theatre company.
