Daryl McCormack plays Brendan in a brand new production of Martin McDonagh’s play The Lieutenant of Inishmore , working alongside Aidan Turner at the Noël Coward Theatre, West End.
McDonagh’s black comedy play is directed by Michael Grandage and set in County Galway, Ireland in 1993 as the Northern Ireland peace process gets underway.
The play follows Padraic, who is part of the INLA, a splinter group of the IRA, whose methods prove too extreme and violent for the group. The play has been described as McDonagh’s best work.
Produced by Michael Grandage Company, The Lieutenant of Inishmore will have set and costume designs by Christopher Oram, lighting by Neil Austin, and sound and music by Adam Cork.
The play will run in London at the Noel Coward Theatre from 24th June.
Daryl's screen credits include A Very English Scandal (BBC), Season 5 of Vikings (History Channel) and MGM’s TV pilot Dawn directed by Robert Stromberg. He can also be seen in the feature film The Randomer written by Gerry Stembridge, which premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh.
Theatre credits include Brendan in The Lieutenant of Inishmore (Noël Coward Theatre), the title role of Othello (Theatre Royal), Romeo and Juliet (The Gate Theatre Dublin), and playing the lead in The Voice Factor X (New Dublin Theatre).About Sainou
